Given the development of the participatory finance market, but also the legislative developments that lead to the creation of a legal regime governing participatory finance, the practical and theoretical interest of this monograph, the first in the Greek literature on the subject, is significant. After an outline of how the various models of participatory financing operate, with reference to relevant practical examples and based on the role played by the platform for raising capital, the Greek legislation on this form of financing is discussed in detail, from the perspective of the law on the provision of investment services, consumer law, money laundering, as well as other specific regulations. In addition, the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council, which was transmitted to the Council at the beginning of April this year and which is expected to be immediately concluded without any substantial changes, is also the subject of comments.
